Down Under - Under My Blanket

The title seems weird, but not far from realistic. As we all know the matches starts early as per IST we had to wake up at 5 am in the winter cold Weather(except Perth test). Almost watched all the matches under my blanket so this title. Talking about the India's tour of Australia, Team India never looked good in the four Tests. We lost the Momentum from the 1st day of Melbourne Test. Our openers failed to give us good start. Sehwag and Gambhir's poor form was huge disapointment for India. The Wall Rahul Dravid Struggled to save his stumps as he was bowled 6 times in a series. Although Sachin was getting good starts couldn't convert them to hundred. The man who always perform well against Australia VVS Laxman couldn't stand up to the exceptations. Well talking about Skipper Dhoni, once again he failed to impress in Tests. Although Virat Kohli scored a Century in last Test it was too late. Our batsmen did not showed any resiliency through out the series.

Bowlers

Taking about bowling department Yadav & Zaher bowled really well, but can't say the same for others. India certainly missing a bowler like Anil Kumble. Who can bowl wicket to wicket consistently. Ironicaly Ashwin was better with the bat rather than bowl. Ishant Sharma never looked like wicket taking bowler. He bowled too short. India didn't played as a team through out the series. Couldn't perform under pressure. Ironically so far it's been hibernating tour for India. No one showed resilience to fight back.

What's next?

After the two consecutive Whitewash defeats in overseas, people forcing Senior players to retire. easier said than done. They are facing Criticism. Well we didn't even find a replacement for Sourav Ganguly after his retirement. The big question is who will replace Dravid, Laxman or Sachin's spot? Will India able to win a Test matches in overseas without them? Well time will tell we should wait and watch.

The Undisputed Wall

I am 18 year old Cricket Crazy boy, i was wondering since many days what to blog? What shall i write about? Who should i write about? Then thought my first blog should be about my all time favourite Mr DEPENDABLE , The GREAT WALL OF INDIA the Class batsmen of Indian cricket RAHUL SHARAD DRAVID, yes i a was little boy when he started playing cricket for India but i have seen all his ODI and TEST innings thanks to STAR CRICKET they have shown thousand times !! Offcourse i remember all his innings from 2000 till now. I used to cut the cricket pictures & collect from news papers. The first thing i like Dravid is his personality and attitude, he is cooler than icecream! He never been involved in sledging or controvery. I remember Dravid's one of best innings was 180 runs and Huge partnership with VVS LAXMAN in 2001 against Austraila at Kolkata Test after a follow on and India manage to Win that game:-)i remember another best was came on the Australia tour in 2003 i guess i was in 6th standard we used to listen to Radio in school for scores. it was the 2nd test at Adelaide he scored 233 in the 1st innings & 70 in 2nd innings leading India to a historical Win, then India managed to level that four match series 1-1 :-) Dravid was rewarded with the man of the Series:-). Then came World Cup held in South Africa he played major part in the league matches against England and Pakistan and kept wickets through out the world cup. Then i remember when he Scored his carrier best 270 runs in the 3rd test against pakistan in a High Voltage series. Talking about records Here is some unique records Dravid holds the 2nd longest streak of consecutive Tests since debut 94 test matches missed 95th test at Ahmedabad due to Stomach ache, and he is the only batsmen in the world to score a hundred against every test playing nation, and i remember he also scored ODI fifty in just 22 balls i guess it was against New zealand, Dravid also scored more than 12,000+runs in Test, 10,000+runs in odi's , and also scored more than 22,000+runs in first class cricket.Dravid has proved that he can play and perform any formate of game.he has shown in IPL and his 1st & last T20 by hitting 3 consecutive sixes!! He has saved India from many critical situation, saved many matches, many experts agreed that he is the technically sound batsmen. Dravid is 2nd Indian to score a hundred in each innings he acheive it 2times. finally he scored 100 in Lords after 16years:-) Dravid announced his odi retirement after a suprise call back to odi's. He end up scoring fifty in his last odi:-)i wish he play more & more years in Test. there is many more to say about Dravid certainly pages are not enough, this is my little view on Dravid. Pardon me if any mistake occurred in this post. Thank you:-)
